MAKING DOCUMENTARY FILMS
Great visual films were made in the silent era because all the filmmaker had to work with was was the image. many problems of making documentarians are related to the evolution of film, sound, and video technology, and the ways in which the available technology cause documentarians to think about what they are doing. Documentries can range from those shot in a hot situation, happenng right now with the outcome in doubt, to fully scripted reenactments or recreations shot with the same preparation and attention to detail as a feature film or television program. Documentaries have always looked at historical events and the biographies of important or interesting people.
